Twenty-Eight Years

August 19, 2017

Twenty-eight. 28 years of a beautiful life I celebrated this past week with my sweet family. Anyone who knows me, knows I love books with beautiful photography and I enjoyed the two I was gifted this year… here are a few favorite stills of a slow afternoon with them.

What Does Slow Living Mean To You?

August 14, 2017

Slow Living : what it means to us…

To find joy in the mundane…

To enjoy your morning cup of coffee (or tea)…

To take time to feel inspired…

To try a new recipe…

To step away from our devices and into moments with ourselves or loved ones…

To walk outside and breathe the fresh air…

To enjoy company with family & friends over a fresh meal and good company…

To declutter…

To be content with what you have…

To create tangible memories…

To be passionate…

In essence, to us, slow living is simple living.

Slow Living can mean something very different to each individual…now that you know, in essence, what it means to us, we will soon share simple steps you can implement into your life to help create a simpler and slower lifestyle relating to all of the points we mentioned above.

Inspirational Sayings :

“The days are long, but the years are short.” Gretchen Rubin

“How we spend our days, is of course how we spend our lives.” Annie Dillard

“Have nothing in your home that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.” William Morris

“…what if you wake up some day, and you’re 65, or 75, and you never got your memoir or novel written; or you didn’t go swimming in warm pools and oceans all those years because your thighs were jiggly and you had a nice big comfortable tummy; or you were just so strung out on perfectionism and people-pleasing that you forgot to have a big juicy creative life, of imagination and radical silliness and staring off into space like when you were a kid? It’s going to break your heart. Don’t let this happen.” Anne Lamott

“The slower we live, the deeper we feel the world around us. “ Stanko Abadzic

About the photos above :

We wanted to compose and capture a very simple yet natural moment for this post. We originally thought about styling a cup of coffee paired with a favorite book on this vintage table…while in transition to doing so, we noticed there was some dust on the bottom of our linen curtain that needed to be vacuumed up. We lifted the curtain and placed it on top of the table while we could vacuum… about to place it back down, we took a step back and realized we liked what naturally unfolded- the simple draping of the curtain, the twist of the linen, and light through the window. It’s amazing what beauty is always right in front of us if we allow ourselves the chance to see it.

August 9, 2017

The dining room has become our workspace more frequently… we will usually migrate over, sit down with our morning coffee, and open our computers to start working. The mornings are typically slower for us and we tend to take our time…

There’s something about a warm blanket draped in a chair that makes cozying up and tackling the to do list so much easier. Shop this blanket (& our other favorites) below!

The season, spring, was our main inspiration for this curated collection.
